Ode to the Roaches

(from the original author in the USA in its first form before the Poetry Winner scam)

by Melanie S. Evans

Scuttle, Scuttle, little roach
How you run when I approach!
Up above the pantry shelf
hastening to secrete yourself.
In the garbage heap they leave
Do you browse among the cheese?
Does your long antennae whisk its
Gentle tips across the biscuits?
How delightful to suspect
All the places you have trekked
Under the fridge, above the door,
Must you produce 10,000 more?
